Both Arsenal and Tottenham have big transfer windows ahead of them, and Spurs may have just thrown two of the Gunners’ plans into disarray.

Indeed, while Arsenal and Spurs are both doing their own business, one club that will seemingly have a big say in what both clubs do this summer is Brighton and Hove Albion.

Arsenal have been chasing two of Brighton’s players for quite some time now in the shape of Yves Bissouma and Ben White, with the Gunners making an offer for the latter player this week.

However, on Wednesday evening it emerged that Tottenham are keen to sign Tariq Lamptey from the Seagulls, and you have to feel that this move may throw a spanner in the works for Arsenal.

Think about it, how likely are Brighton to sell White, Bissouma and Lamptey, arguably their three best players, in the same transfer window?

Brighton finished 16th last season, so losing three of their best players in the same summer would make them immediate relegation contenders, and while they would have a substantial windfall come in from these sales, backing yourself to buy the right replacements is a big gamble.

Brighton may be open to selling one or even two of those players this summer, but from the outside looking in, it seems insane to suggest that a relegation-threatened team would sell three of their top stars in the same summer.

Tottenham going after Lamptey may force Brighton to rethink their stance when it comes to selling either Bissouma or White, and that could seriously affect what Arsenal do in this transfer window.

Spurs probably aren’t going after Lamptey just to meddle with Arsenal’s transfer window, but the Gunners’ plans being affected could be an interesting bi-product of this potential move.
