In 2018, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola expressed his admiration towards Tottenham Hotspur-linked manager Julian Nagelsmann.
With Bayern Munich having confirmed that they let the 35-year-old go in what was a shock decision, it has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is keen on having a chat with Nagelsmann before deciding whether to hire him.
As Tottenham Hotspur fans rub their hands at the prospect of Julian Nagelsmann becoming their brand-new manager, they will be over the moon upon hearing what Pep Guardiola said about him.
Guardiola raved about Tottenham-linked manager Nagelsmann
There is a feeling that the German was unfairly shown the door by Bayern, considering he is just one point off the top spot in Bundesliga and his side beat PSG to face Manchester City in the Champions League last 8.
However, the Bavarian’s loss could be Tottenham Hotspur’s gain, as Julian Nagelsmann could end their search for a new manager, who was praised by Pep Guardiola back in 2018.
“I’m really, really impressed [with Nagelsmann]. Taking over Hoffenheim in such a bad situation so young. He will have a lot of success in his career. He’s already at a good team in a top competition. It’s the first time we meet, but hopefully it won’t be the last”, he said, as quoted by the official Bundesliga website.
“Footballers are good all over the world. There are nuances though. In Germany, there are more long drives into space and passes played into that space rather than to a players’ feet.”

“But there are young coaches who have come through like Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel, who, if they coached in Spain, you’d think they were Spanish.”
Considering Pep Guardiola is widely viewed as the best manager in the world and one of the greatest coaches to ever grace the game, the fact that he rates Julian Nagelsmann as highly as he does should excite Tottenham supporters.
