Tottenham Hotspur could now move for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie having communicated their interest in him.

Barcelona are waiting for offers to sign Franck Kessie and there is rising belief that Tottenham could make a move.

That is according to Catalan newspaper SPORT, who claim that Barcelona are looking to offload Kessie this summer.

It’s stated that Juventus have put an offer on the table but Barcelona have yet to accept it.

That’s because Barcelona ultimately think that they can get a better deal elsewhere – and Tottenham could pounce.

The report claims that Tottenham have communicated that they could more for Kessie next week.

SPORT suggest that Tottenham would look to reinvest some of the cash from a Harry Kane sale in Kessie.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with one unwanted Barcelona player in Clement Lenglet, but the Catalan press seem to think Kessie could head to North London instead.

We can’t see Franck Kessie being a top Tottenham priority

Kessie is certainly an interesting player.

The Ivorian was outstanding for AC Milan, thriving as a box-to-box midfielder with 21 goals in his final two seasons at the club.

Pundit Pat Nevin hailed Kessie as ‘very special’ during his Milan days having been blown away by his quality.

Barcelona signed Kessie on a free transfer last summer but he wasn’t able to replicate his Milan success at the Camp Nou.

Kessie started just seven league games as he struggled to nail down a starting role under Xavi.

Barcelona now seemingly view Kessie as a real source of funds given that he doesn’t have an important role at the club.

SPORT haven’t exactly been reliable for Tottenham this summer amid constant claims that Clement Lenglet would be rejoining Spurs.

That hasn’t happened and Tottenham fans will rightly question their claims about Kessie now.

Spurs are in the market for a midfielder though amid claims that they fancy signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher ticks the homegrown box though, which Kessie doesn’t, and Spurs seem to have bigger priorities right now with two centre backs wanted.

Kessie may be on the Spurs radar but we just can’t see him being a top priority right now and a bid next week would be a huge surprise.
