Tottenham took Kwaku Oduroh on trial in February and Manchester City have now decided to release the youngster.

With the end of the season upon us, Premier League clubs have been announcing their retained lists.

For instance, Tottenham have decided to release the likes of Joshua Oluwayemi, J’Neil Bennett, Tobi Omole and Isak Solberg among others.

Other clubs are releasing young talent too and one of them may be of interest to Tottenham this summer.

Tottenham took Kwaku Oduroh on trial

Back in February, Tottenham handed a chance to young defender Oduroh in an Under-23 clash against Leeds United.

Oduroh played the full 90 minutes as a trialist for Tottenham in that 1-1 draw, featuring as a centre back.

On Friday, Oduroh was named as one of five players being released by City at the end of their contracts.

Oduroh now becomes a free agent and will be able to move on for nothing.

The 19-year-old was born in Manchester and came up through the ranks with City.

Oduroh captained City’s Under-18’s to the Under-18 Premier League title in 2021 but has now been let go.

That will be a blow for Oduroh having spent so long with City and he must now go out and find himself a new club.

This could be of real interest to Tottenham even though that game against Leeds was his only appearance in a Spurs shirt.

Tottenham did pounce for a similar deal in 2020 by snapping up Marcel Lavinier on a free transfer from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

A move for Oduroh would be in a similar vein, especially with both players preferring to play at right back, and the door is now firmly open for Tottenham to make their move if they liked what they saw from Oduroh.
