Tottenham Hotspur could have a new addition to their youth ranks on the way with Kwaku Oduroh joining the club on trial from Manchester City.
Tottenham’s Under-23’s were in action on Monday night, taking on Leeds United in Premier League 2.
Former Arsenal talent Sam Greenwood had fired Leeds ahead from the penalty spot before Jez Davies bagged a late leveller for Tottenham.
A 1-1 draw won’t make many headlines, but there was an intriguing name in the Tottenham side.
Joining the likes of Yago Santiago, Marcel Lavinier and Joshua Oluwayemi was Oduroh, with Tottenham confirming the trialist’s identity.
Oduroh played the full 90 minutes for Tottenham as coach Wayne Burnett casts his eye over the Manchester City youngster.
Oduroh, 19, was born in Manchester and has been with City since Under-9 level, meaning he has been progressing through the ranks for years.
Primarily a right back, Oduroh can also play as a holding midfielder and even captained City’s Under-18’s to the Under-18 Premier League title just last year.
We’re now approaching that time of year where young players are learning whether they are being kept on by clubs. If not, they are usually allowed to go on trial elsewhere and ensure they’re fixed up.

Yet according to Transfermarkt, Oduroh’s contract doesn’t actually expire until next summer, meaning Tottenham may have to pay a small fee if they like Oduroh.
With 11 Premier League 2 appearances for City to his name this season, Oduroh has featured regularly for City’s Elite Development Squad but could now end up making an emotional exit.
In April 2021, Oduroh was promoted to train with Pep Guardiola’s senior squad, so it’s clear that some around City have high hopes for the defender.
Oduroh may now swap Manchester for London, with Tottenham maybe feeling they have found a diamond in the rough ahead of the summer transfer window.
