Tottenham have now joined Liverpool in the race to sign Morocco international Nayef Aguerd from West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Jeunes Footeux – Spurs and the Reds are both interested in Aguerd.
The 27-year-old joined West Ham in a £30m deal from Rennes back in June, and has enjoyed a strong debut season in the Premier League.
Aguerd missed the first 13 games of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign after damaging his ankle during pre-season, but he has been a real force in the 11 Premier League outings since he regained full fitness.
Jeunes Footeux believe West Ham could demand up to £53m for their No.27 this summer even if they suffer relegation to the Championship, with Manchester United also said to be interested in his services.

The £64,000-a-week man scored his first goal for the Hammers on Sunday in a crucial 1-0 win over Southampton, which gave the east Londoners some breathing space in the relegation scrap.
Tottenham need Aguerd more than Liverpool
In our view, Aguerd should choose to join Tottenham instead of Liverpool, as he surely has a better chance of starting in N17 than he does on Merseyside.
Jürgen Klopp already has the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Nat Phillips for just two central positions in defence, with the first two names among the best in Europe.
In contrast, Tottenham have a number of weak options – out of Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero, only the latter has shown the quality required to compete at the highest level.
Of course, it may be tougher for Spurs to negotiate with West Ham given the rivalry between both sides, although Aguerd would certainly have a better chance of starting given the lack of quality in Tottenham’s defence.
