According to Eurosport, Tottenham Hotspur will tell Harry Winks that he can find a new club in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that Winks would like to go abroad if he is not part of Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho’s plans.
Harry Winks’s struggles this season
Winks is a very good midfielder who has done well for Spurs over the years, but the England international has struggled for playing time this season.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and has scored one goal in four Europa League matches for Spurs so far this season.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the England international made 26 starts and five substitute appearances and played five times in the Champions League for Tottenham, according to WhoScored.
Leaving Tottenham Hotspur in January
With the European Championship to be held in the summer of 2021, Winks needs to play regularly to book his place in the England squad.
Described by former Spurs midfielder Danny Murphy as “a super player” who is “one of Tottenham’s best midfielders” and “can play as a six or an eight” on talkSPORT (6:55pm, January 7, 2020), the 24-year-old could have a big decision to make on his future in the coming weeks.
It would be a disappointment for Winks if he is to leave, as he has come through the academy at the North London club and has done well for the team.
