Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Tanguy Ndombele is showing a good attitude in Spurs training sessions.

Conte has said that Ndombele could start for Tottenham in the FA Cup tie against Morecambe at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

The midfielder has been struggling for playing time under Conte and has been linked with a move away.

CM reported this month that AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho is interested in a reunion with Ndombele in the January transfer window.

The Times reported in December that Spurs are willing to offload the 25-year-old France international midfielder in January.

Antonio Conte on Tanguy Ndombele

Conte told Football.London about Ndombele: “Tanguy is showing a good commitment, a good attitude in training sessions. He has had an opportunity, a chance against Liverpool and then the second half against Chelsea.

”Probably he could play on Sunday in the FA Cup. I think every game is a good opportunity for every player that is not playing so much in the last period to show me that they deserve more consideration.”

Spurs stay?

In our view, Ndombele could still be an important player for Spurs this season.

We do not think that Tottenham should offload the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.

Spurs are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four, and they are in a good position to be successful in that quest.

Moreover, there have been COVID-19 issues among Premier League teams, so Tottenham do need a big squad.

Now, Ndombele may not be a regular in the starting lineup at Spurs, but we think that he is still a good option to have for Conte.
