Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will win against Southampton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this week.

Tottenham will take on Southampton at home in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Spurs will pick up all three points against the Saints courtesy of a 2-1 win.

However, Merson believes that Tottenham do not have it in them yet to mix with the big boys.

Paul Merson predicts Tottenham v Southampton

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Brighton are a decent Premier League team, and I thought Tottenham played quite well against them the other day. They look fresh, and it looks like Antonio Conte is getting them to play the way he wants them to in the Premier League.

“They’ve brought two players in from Juventus, but it isn’t like they were playing for them every week. Tottenham don’t have it in them to mix in with the big boys at the moment, and we’ll have to wait and see. Conte knows his signings well, however, and that’s a big advantage.

“Southampton play good football but they haven’t been consistent enough in the Premier League this season. With Harry Kane looking good again, Tottenham should be able to win this game.”

Spurs can win and get top four eventually

In our view, Tottenham have what it takes to win against Southampton.

Spurs beat Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, with star striker Harry Kane scoring twice.

Tottenham are doing well under Conte, who seems to be getting the best out of Kane.

Now, we do agree with Merson that Tottenham are not yet ready to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Conte himself recently said that there is a big gap between his former club Chelsea and Spurs.

However, in our opinion, that Tottenham can certainly finish in the Premier League top four and get into the Champions League.
