Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported that Tottenham have asked Brighton how much it will cost to sign the defender, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds United and helped the Whites win automatic promotion from the Championship.

The report in the British tabloid has added that the Seagulls want more than £50 million as transfer fee for the 22-year-old, described as a player who is “really good” and “reads the game well” by former Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy on talkSPORT (10:30am, April 20, 2020) (click here to read more).

The report in The Sun has added that Manchester United, Manchester City and Leicester City have also asked about White, who Brighton are not willing to sell and will look for over £50 million.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

White is a very good and promising young defender who also played in midfield on occasions last season.

The 22-year-old developed a lot under Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa, and his calmness on the ball, ability to make tackles at the right time, and reading of the game are attributes that would make him a good signing for Spurs, who could do with a central defender following the departure of Jan Vertonghen.
