Tottenham Hotspur are pushing for a third summer signing as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his squad.

Tottenham Hotspur have already secured the signings of Lucas Bergvall and Timo Werner for the summer transfer window.

Those deals were done some time ago with Tottenham looking to get business done early this summer.

Spurs missed out on a top four place this past season and Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his ranks.

Tottenham are now pushing for a third signing with Leeds United talent Archie Gray wanted.

HITC understands that Tottenham have opened talks to sign teenager Gray in a bid to persuade him to move to join them.

Tottenham Hotspur move for Archie Gray

Leeds were close to agreeing terms with Brentford on Saturday and allowed Gray to have a medical with the Bees.

However, terms of the Brentford payment structure were rejected, leaving the race for Gray’s signature open.

Now, Spurs are in talks with Leeds and Gray to try and convince him to join them and they are hopeful of doing a deal.

Gray looked set to join Brentford in a deal worth around £35million on Saturday with Leeds looking to sell to help their situation in terms of the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

“We have the funds we need to do what we need, but there will need to be some trade-offs because of [profit and sustainability rules],” Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe told BBC Sport in May.

The Bees weren’t able to strike an agreement with Leeds though and that has allowed Tottenham to make their move.

Hailed as a ‘phenomenal’ player by Jermaine Beckford, the 18-year-old has already played 52 times for Leeds, recording one goal and two assists.

Gray spent most of last season playing as a right back but can also operate in midfield.

England youth international Gray looked set for West London but may instead end up in the North of the capital as Tottenham push for a deal.
