According to AlfredoPedulla, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is rated very highly by Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Well-known and well-respected Italian journalist Pedulla has reported on his website that Tottenham admire Zielinski, and that the North London club could open talks in case Napoli decide to offload the midfielder.

Tottenham Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, rates the Poland international midfielder a lot, and Conte wanted to sign him for Inter Milan in the summer of 2019, according to the report.

Would Piotr Zielinski make Tottenham Hotspur better?

In our opinion, Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

It is very likely that Spurs will finish in the Premier League top four this season.

Zielinski has experience of playing European football with Napoli, and that would help Tottenham in the Champions League next season.

The 28-year-old is in his prime now, and given that Paratici and Conte both like him, there is every reason to believe that the Polish midfielder would be able to make an immediate impact at Spurs.

Praise from Bruno Fernandes

Moreover, Manchester United and Portugal international midfielder Bruno Fernandes rates Zielinski highly, once saying that he would like to play with him again, having been teammates with him at Udinese.

Fernandes said about Zielinski on Canal+ Sport in May 2021, as transcribed by HITC Sport at the time: “Technically, I can say that Zieliński is better trained than I am. We had a good challenge. I think in the past, Zieliński was actually a bit shy. He was really young then, just like me, at that time.

“I spoke to him a few months ago and told him that I would like to play with him again. So, who knows what the future has waiting for us. For me, he is a really, really top player.”

Zielinski has cored five goals and given five assists in Serie A this season.
