Arsenal have been linked with Piotr Zielinski, and Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes’s previous comments on the midfielder will encourage the Emirates Stadium faithful.
What’s the story?
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in signing Zielinski from Napoli in the summer transfer window, according to Il Mattino.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will not sell any of the players on the cheap.
But, according to the report, no Napoli player is untouchable.
This means that if Arsenal make a big bid for Zielinski, then they could get the 27-year-old Poland international midfielder.
What Bruno Fernandes has said
Manchester United star Fernandes is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.
The Portugal international knows a quality player when he sees one.
The 26-year-old played with Zielinski at Udinese, and the Poland international made such an impression on him that he recently said that he would love to play with him again.

Fernandes said about Zielinski on Canal+ Sport in May 2021, as transcribed by HITC Sport at the time: “Technically, I can say that Zieliński is better trained than I am. We had a good challenge. I think in the past, Zieliński was actually a bit shy. He was really young then, just like me, at that time.
“I spoke to him a few months ago and told him that I would like to play with him again. So, who knows what the future has waiting for us. For me, he is a really, really top player.”

Encouraging for Arsenal fans
Zielinski haș been at Napoli since 2016 and is one of the better midfielders in Serie A.
At 27, you could say that the Poland international is at the top of his game and would be able to make an immediate impact at Arsenal.
The Napoli no.20 scored eight goals and gave 10 assists in 32 Serie A starts last season.
