Matt Doherty can leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer having been told that he is free to find a new club with Djed Spence targeted.
Tottenham have brought in four new signings with Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison all arriving.
The attention will now turn to offloading players with the likes of Joe Rodon, Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso likely to be available.
More departures are likely too, and there could be something of a shock exit on the cards with Doherty allegedly becoming available.
Matt Doherty can leave Tottenham Hotspur
TalkSPORT report that Doherty has been told he can leave the club this summer.
On the one hand, this feels like something of a surprise.
Doherty forced his way into Antonio Conte’s side and was in great form at one stage, bagging two goals and three assists in six games before picking up a season-ending injury against Aston Villa in April.
It looked like the Irishman had salvaged his future at Tottenham and if Spurs were going to bring in a new right wing back, it would be Emerson Royal leaving.
On the other hand though, Tottenham made it clear to Atletico Madrid last week that Emerson wasn’t available.

Tottenham only signed Emerson from Barcelona last summer and may want to give him more time to shine in English football.
Given that Tottenham have been chasing Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence all summer, Tottenham are surely letting one right wing back leave.
It now looks like it’s Doherty who will be offloaded to make room for Spence, leaving him and Emerson to battle it out.
Doherty’s Premier League experience could have been valuable for a still-raw Spence, offering a strong blend for Tottenham moving forward.
By going with Emerson and Spence, Tottenham are putting their faith in two players who still need some coaching up – but maybe Conte feels he can mould them into exactly what he wants, something that may not be on the cards with 30-year-old Doherty.
