Tottenham Hotspur are aware that Middlesbrough youngster Djed Spence wants to join Antonio Conte’s side in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that Tottenham know that Spence, who can operate as a right-back, right-winger or right wing-back, wants to move to Middlesbrough this summer.
Jones has added that talks between Premier League club Tottenham and Championship side Middlesbrough over the transfer of Spence are going on.
The London Evening Standard reported this week that Tottenham and Middlesbrough are continuing talks over a £15-£20 million deal for Spence, described as “outstanding” and “absolutely fantastic” by former Chelsea player Andy Townsend on talkSPORT (5:43pm, March 21, 2022).
Tottenham aware Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence wants Spurs transfer
Jones told GiveMeSport about Spence: “Something needs to happen very soon. Either Boro need to budge on their valuation or Spurs need to give them a take it or leave it offer.
“Tottenham will say we can’t drag this on all summer, we know he wants to come to us, let’s get it done.”

Could a transfer happen?
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are likely to sign Djed Spence from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.
Middlesbrough head coach Chris Wilder left the youngster out of their pre-season friendly match against York City on Friday.
It suggests that Boro expect the 21-year-old – who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Boro – to leave soon.
The sticking point is the transfer fee, and we think that Tottenham and Middlesbrough will eventually come to an arrangement.
