Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that he has been taken aback by star striker Harry Kane.

Conte has praised Kane for what he does on the pitch for Tottenham.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss has also hailed the attitude of the 28-year-old England international striker, adding that he has been pleasantly surprised by his professionalism and work ethic.

Antonio Conte praises Harry Kane

Conte told Football.London about Kane: “Harry has shown to the club a great commitment and he shows every day a great attitude, a great behaviour and we are talking about a world class striker and a fantastic player.

“If you saw the goal he scored against Leicester the assist he made for the Bergwijn goal, you understand the quality and the value of this player.

“Apart from this we are talking about a really good guy, an honest person and a person who wants to work hard to improve. You can think this is normal but sometimes you can find players with great talent but lazy but doesn’t want to put themselves to the service of the team.

“Instead Harry has all this quality. I am really surprised in a positive way to see this characteristic of the play.”

World-class striker

In our view, Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet and remains world class.

The Tottenham striker is not having the best of seasons at the moment, but there have been positive signs in recent weeks.

The 28-year-old is playing closer to goal and is scoring goals and providing assists.

Kane has scored five goals and provided two assists in 17 Premier League starts for Tottenham so far this season.

Tottenham are doing extremely well in the Premier League at the moment and are very much in the race for the top four.

Conte is starting to get Kane back to his old self, and, in our opinion, that is bad news for opposition defenders.
