Tottenham were linked with West Ham ace in the summer.

One of the most bizarre transfer rumours in the summer were claims in The Sun linking Arthur Masuaku with a link to Tottenham Hotspur.

The paper claimed Spurs were keen on a £20 million move for the Frenchman.

It was a rumour which quickly died, with Spurs fans unimpressed and West Ham supporters keen not to deal with their rivals.

Hammers supporters will right now probably be wishing Tottenham actually had made a bid.

Masuaku was particularly poor in West Ham’s Carabao Cup defeat against Tottenham, and was responsible for giving away the second goal in the 3-1 defeat.

His performance was slammed by West Ham supporters who called for him to be dropped from the side.

The report claimed Masuaku wanted to play Champions League football, which after last night looks a long way off.

Tottenham did not sign a single player in the summer, but even so, they are probably better off without bringing the West Ham man aboard.
