Tottenham Hotspur should target Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha over Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

Riyad Mahrez of Leicester looks on during the pre-season friendly match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City at Molineux on July 29, 2017 in Wolverhampton, England.

According to a report in The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a bid for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez – but they may be going after the wrong man.

Mahrez has come on to Spurs’ radar, with the Algerian having a middling season at the King Power Stadium.

Mahrez was one of the key figures as Leicester won the Premier League title two years ago, but his form has slowed down more recently.

Tottenham should, therefore, make a move for Wilfried Zaha, who just seems to be going from strength to strength at Crystal Palace.

Zaha was in eye catching form for Palace last term, and he made a wonderful return to action against Chelsea yesterday.

The Ivory Coast made his first appearance of the season against the Blues, and he inspired Palace to collect the three points.

Zaha’s performance showed that he is now a threat to every team in the country, and Tottenham should break the bank to bring him in.

Indeed, Zaha’s display against Chelsea didn’t go unnoticed, with Spurs fans urging the club to move for the tricky winger, as reported by HITC.

Palace, of course, are likely to want to keep Zaha – he is the stand out player in their team, after all.

But if Spurs have the funds required to bring in Mahrez, then they clearly have money to spend.

And Pochettino’s side should put all their efforts into bringing Zaha to North London, as the wide-man looks ready to make the step up to play for a title chasing club now.
