Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in Lyon winger Tete but they now face a battle with Everton and Nottingham Forest.
That’s according to talkSPORT, who claim that the Brazilian winger is attracting major interest this month.
It’s stated that Tete is open to leaving Lyon this month with Premier League clubs very keen.
Everton, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all interested in signing Tete.
Tete is still owned by Shakhtar Donetsk but has been with Lyon since March of last year following the conflict in Ukraine.
Lyon won’t want to lose Tete with six months left on his loan spell and just how a deal can be done remains to be seen.
Tottenham face battle for Tete
Whilst it sounds like Everton, Forest and Wolves are all taking a very active interest in Tete, Tottenham seem to be taking a back seat.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham may view Tete as an option later in the transfer window.
Tottenham have been linked with a number of wingers this month and it seems that Tete is one option on Fabio Paratici’s radar.
Tete likes to cut inside from the right flank, just like Tottenham’s star right winger Dejan Kulusevski.
Tottenham have really missed Kulusevski when he has been out injured at times this season and signing another wide man should be a priority.
Tete, hailed as a special player’ by former Lyon boss Peter Bosz, may just fit the bill if Tottenham can’t secure their top targets this month.
If Tottenham are waiting until the every end to move for Tete, those interested clubs like Everton and Forest should be primed and ready to strike now.
Tottenham would likely be the most appealing of the bunch, but other clubs can really sell him on the idea of being a star player rather than just a squad man at Spurs.
