Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Lyon winger Tete but may only make a move to sign him towards the end of the January window.
That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has been speaking to Give Me Sport about Tottenham’s transfer plans.
Jones claims that Tete ‘could be an option towards the back end of the window’ for Tottenham, maybe if other targets have fallen through.
Jones adds that Tottenham are unlikely to sign Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes or Watford wide man Ismaila Sarr.
That may be why Tete is viewed as an option late in January – a player Tottenham can move for with greater ease than targets based in England.

Who is Tottenham target Tete?
Tete, 22, came through the ranks with top Brazilian side Gremio – but never actually made his first-team debut for the club.
Shakhtar Donetsk were very quick to sign Tete, luring him to Ukraine at the age of just 19.
Tete ended up playing 108 times for Shakhtar, racking up 31 goals and 15 assists before deciding to leave earlier this year.
The conflict in Ukraine meant Tete – and other foreign player in Ukraine – were able to go out on loan.
Lyon snapped up Tete and that move has been pretty inspired.
Tete has racked up eight goals and eight assists in 27 appearances for Lyon, with six of those goals coming in just 15 games this term.
Tete’s Shakhtar contract ends in December of this year, so whilst they will still be entitled to cash for the winger’s registration, his value may be dropping.
Primarily a right-sided winger, Tete loves to cut inside on his left foot – just like Dejan Kulusevski.
Bryan Gil’s last couple of promising appearances may just leave Tottenham looking elsewhere for new signings though.
Tete, hailed as a special player’ by former Lyon boss Peter Bosz, is a name for Tottenham fans to keep a close eye on in the coming weeks.
