Tottenham Hotspur are expected to ‘do something’ in the January transfer window – but the summer window is where they will be active.
That’s according to Sky Italia’s transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, who was speaking on Sky Sports News (04/01, 20:15).
Di Marzio claimed that Tottenham will look to strike some deals in January and knows that both Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte want Dejan Kulusevski.
Reports in Italy last week suggested that Tottenham are willing to offer Giovani Lo Celso in exchange for Juventus winger Kulusevski.
Whether that deal happens remains to be seen, but Di Marzio is seemingly confident that there will be some business in North London.
What was really interesting was Di Marzio’s claim that Tottenham will ‘lead the market’ with a number of ‘big deals’.
Di Marzio seemingly feels that Tottenham will be willing to wait until the end of the season to land big signings.

Those deals aren’t easy in January, and Tottenham may even have Champions League cash to play with by then.
“Tottenham will do something, but in June I think they will lead the market with a lot of big deals. It’s difficult in January to find top players available who can change teams,” said Di Marzio.
The likes of Franck Kessie, Dusan Vlahovic and Kulusevski would fit the bill for Tottenham, certainly fitting as big signings anyway.
