Tottenham Hotspur are signing Destiny Udogie and the Udinese talent has now commented on his impending move to North London.
Spurs have signed two wing backs this summer with Ivan Perisic and Djed Spence both arriving in recent times.
Neither player have started a Premier League game this season but the recruitment of both players just shows the importance of wing backs under Antonio Conte.
Perisic is into his 30’s and is only on a two-year deal though, meaning Tottenham may still need to plan for the future at left wing back.
Tottenham Hotspur are signing Destiny Udogie
Tottenham have identified a top talent for the future and have now moved in to sign him.
Udinese teenager Destiny Udogie has become a key target for Tottenham having shown real promise in Italy last season.
Udogie registered five goals and three assists in 35 games last season, playing almost exclusively as a left wing back.
Tottenham have now moved in to sign the 19-year-old, with a £21million deal imminent for the Udinese talent.
Udogie will be heading back to Udinese on loan for the 2022-23 season before joining up with Tottenham next season.
Udinese faced AC Milan over the weekend but Udogie wasn’t even in the squad for the 4-2 defeat at the San Siro.
Udogie is completing his move to Tottenham and has now spoken about his big move to London.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb from Verona airport as he jets off to England, Udogie has admitted that he is ‘very happy’ to be signing for Tottenham and is excited to work for Conte.
The teenager believes that Conte will be able to make him into a better player down the line, but is now just focusing on another strong season with Udinese before he can really start his Tottenham career.
“I’m very happy. It’s a good feeling to go to the Premier League, work with Conte, sign with Tottenham,” said Udogie. “I am convinced that with Mr. Conte I will be able to grow further. For now, however, it is also important to return on loan to Udine, I want to have a good season,” he added.
