Tottenham are closing in on Destiny Udogie
Tottenham are now pressing ahead with a move for Udinese teenager Destiny Udogie.
Reports from Italy last week suggested that Udogie was on the verge of a £21million move to Tottenham after showing huge promise at Udinese.
Further claims from Football London suggested that Udogie had decided that he wants to join Tottenham and play for Conte.
The London Evening Standard now report that Conte has personally recommended a move for Udogie.
It’s added that Tottenham are now planning a medical for Udogie, and it will take place in Italy rather than in England.
Udogie will be staying on loan with Udinese for the 2022-23 season, so Tottenham seemingly feel that there is no need to bring him all the way over to London right now.
Udogie will agree a ‘long-term contract’ with Tottenham and then undergo the medical tests in Italy, securing his Spurs future.
The 19-year-old showed enormous potential at Udinese last season, showing that he could be a real attacking threat.
Perisic is into his 30’s and is only on a two-year deal at Tottenham, meaning Udogie may be viewed as a long-term option at left wing back.
The idea may be for Sessegnon and Udogie to battle for years to come, with Perisic’s knowledge and experience no doubt set to be vital to both moving forward.
