Nigel de Jong has said on Sky Sports News (10:26am, January 31, 2022) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli should leave on January transfer deadline day.

The former Manchester City midfielder has said that Alli needs to leave Tottenham and revive himself at another club.

The Dutchman believes that Alli, who is 25 now, can still get back to his best.

De Jong said about Alli on Sky Sports News (10:26am, January 31, 2022): “He is getting older and needs to revive himself and think about what he wants to do. I hope he can make a move.

“He has the quality, he has shown it. This has to come from himself. As a club you can only give so many opportunities. I really hope he goes somewhere else, he’s still young and has the qualities.”

Dele Alli set for Everton move

In our view, De Jong is right about Alli and leaving Tottenham.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been struggling at Spurs for a while now.

Jose Mourinho, Nuno and now Antonio Conte all have failed to get the best out of him.

We think that Alli needs to find a new club where he can flourish and grow.

And, it seems that that new club could be Everton.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that the Englishman is having a medical at Everton.

Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham could eventually get £40 million in transfer fees for Alli.

It seems that Alli will get to work with former Chelsea and England international midfielder Frank Lampard at Everton.

Lampard was a great midfielder in his playing career, and he could get the best out of Alli.
