Tottenham Hotspur are keen to re-sign playmaker Christian Eriksen, who has now been hailed by Brentford teammate Pontus Jansson.
Eriksen’s return to the Premier League has been emotional and simply great to see for even neutral fans.
The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest against Iceland at Euro 2020, and there were major fears for his life, never mind his playing career.
Eriksen survived and started his road to recovery with the aim of playing again in 2022.
Inter Milan released Eriksen from his contract as he wasn’t allowed to play in Serie A whilst being fitted with an ICD.
That allowed Brentford to swoop in and sign Eriksen on a free transfer, adding him to their strong Danish influence.
Whilst that move was a risk given Eriksen’s health concerns, it has proven to be an absolute masterstroke.
Eriksen has been sensational for Brentford, looking back to his creative best whilst notching one goal and two assists.
Eriksen’s outstanding form has even resulted in Jamie Redknapp calling him a ‘magician’, with Brentford fans no doubt enjoying his displays.
The problem for Brentford is that Eriksen is out of contract this summer having only signed a deal until the end of the season.
That means other clubs are looking to sign Eriksen and an emotional return to Tottenham has been rumoured.
90Min claim that Tottenham are confident of re-signing Eriksen some two-and-a-half years since letting him join Inter Milan.

Eriksen’s former Inter boss Antonio Conte is now in charge of Tottenham and his pull to the club may simply be too strong.
Brentford will still throw everything at Eriksen to try and convince him to stay, with captain Pontus Jansson raving about him.
Jansson has told the Daily Mail that Eriksen’s impact has been simply ‘unbelievable’, even believing that he could play for any Premier League team.
Jansson added that Eriksen is a ‘world-class’ player and hopes he stays put even if Tottenham appear to be ready to pounce.
“He has made a huge difference with what he has done in the last three months, it’s been unbelievable,” said Jansson. “Hopefully he stays. He is a world-class player.”
“He would start most games for any club he went to because he is one of the best players in the Premier League. Of course we want him to continue to play for us,” he added.
