Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen was superb against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday – and Jamie Redknapp has hailed him as a ‘magician’.
Brentford were arguably the better side as Tottenham couldn’t muster a shot on target in a 0-0 draw.
The Bees were more than a match for Antonio Conte’s men and Eriksen was outstanding throughout.
Eriksen recorded four key passes, one shot on target, seven accurate crosses, one interception, one aerial duel and one clearance in a fine display.
The Dane was so unlucky not to register an assist, with Eriksen making a huge impact in the final third.
That has been the case ever since Eriksen joined Brentford.
Unbeaten in games he has started for the Bees, Eriksen has proven to be a masterstroke signing.
Available for free, Eriksen was released by Inter Milan as he wasn’t allowed to play after being fitted with an ICD.
The 30-year-old’s comeback after a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 last summer has been truly amazing.
Eriksen only signed a deal with Brentford until the end of the season, meaning he will soon become a free agent.
It would be nice to see Eriksen stay with Brentford; they gave him a chance when others wouldn’t, and he heavy Danish influence seems ideal for him.
However, there will be huge interest in Eriksen’s signature.
90Min claim that Tottenham are actually confident of re-signing Eriksen seam two-and-a-half years since selling him to Inter.

That would mean a reunion with his former Inter boss Conte, so you can understand Tottenham’s interest.
Having been so impressive against Spurs on Saturday, Eriksen received enormous praise from pundit Redknapp.
Speaking to Sky Sports (23/04, 7:23pm), Redknapp hailed Eriksen as ‘exceptional’ and ‘magnificent’ for Brentford.
Redknapp added that Eriksen is a ‘magician’ on the ball and may actually be better than ever as he weighs up his future with the Bees.
“He was exceptional again,” said Redknapp. “Since he came to Brentford, he’s been magnificent in that area. Spurs gave him so much space, there was almost too much respect for him. He was just picking passes out, he’s a magician. I have to be honest, it’s a joy to see him playing football again. Not just playing but playing at such an elite level.”
“Some of his passing and the rhythm that he plays at, he just makes the game look so effortless. I’m gonna go as far to say that he looks better than ever! He really does. He looks so free, he looks so relaxed,” he added.
