Michael Dawson has raved about reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target and Chelsea central defender Antonio Rudiger on Sky Sports News (12:36pm, January 15, 2022).

The former Tottenham central defender believes that Rudiger has been a revelation under Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

The Tottenham Ambassador and Sky Sports pundit has added that the 28-year-old Germany international central defender is horrible to play against.

Eurosport reported in December 2021 that Tottenham are keen on signing Rudiger on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

Journalist Dean Jones said on The Football Terrace YouTube channel this month that Tottenham have made the defender “a very good offer”.

Dawson said about Rudiger on Sky Sports News (12:36pm, January 15, 2022): “He has come back and under Thomas Tuchel he has been a revelation. He has played in a three. He gets around people, he is physical, he is horrible to play against.”

Antonio Rudiger would be brilliant for Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, Rudiger would be a very good signing for Tottenham in the summer of 2022.

The German is at the top of his game, and, as things stand, he would become a free agent at the end of the season.

Yes, we know about the intense rivalry between Chelsea and Tottenham, but that did not stop Spurs from appointing Antonio Conte as their head coach.

Rudiger is very good in playing in a three-at-the-back system and would fit in seamlessly into Conte’s system.

Tottenham need players like Rudiger to re-establish themselves as regulars in the Premier League top four and compete for the title.
