Ramon Vega has told The Daily Record that Cameron Carter-Vickers should make his loan deal at Celtic permanent from Tottenham Hotspur.
Carter-Vickers is on loan at Celtic from Tottenham at the moment.
The USA international central defender moved to Celtic on loan from Tottenham in the summer of 2021 and is scheduled to stay at Celtic Park until the end of the season.
The Daily Record have reported that Celtic are in talks with Tottenham over making the loan deal permanent now for £6 million.
And pundit Vega, who himself had a loan spell at Celtic from Tottenham in 2000-01, believes that the 24-year-old should leave Spurs for good.
Cameron Carter-Vickers should leave Tottenham for good
Vega told The Daily Record: “I hope that Carter-Vickers has the opportunity that I didn’t have. The chance was not there for me to stay because I certainly would have done.
“Celtic wouldn’t have even had to have paid £6 million for me. I was free and I didn’t get the chance which I would have loved.
“If I was him and the opportunity is there for this move to become a permanent thing, it’s not even a question mark because you will improve an enormous amount.
“You would be taking a massive step up in your career to be working within a massive club.”

What should CCV do?
In our view, Carter-Vickers should leave Tottenham and join Celtic on a permanent contract.
We do not think that there is any point in the American defender prolonging his stay at Spurs.
After all, Carter-Vickers is now 24 years of age, and he has not even played a single game in the Premier League for Tottenham.
The American is playing regularly for Celtic and has already won the Scottish League Cup with the Hoops.
Carter-Vickers has scored two goals and provided one assist in 15 Scottish Premiership matches for the Hoops so far this season.
The Celtic no. 20 has played five times in the Europa League and thrice in the Scottish League Cup for Ange Postecoglou’s side so far this campaign.
