Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that former Spurs attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen could join Brentford.

The Athletic have reported today that former Tottenham star Eriksen is in talks with Brentford over a move to the Premier League club on a free transfer.

The Bees, who won promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season, have offered the 29-year-old playmaker a six-month contract.

The Times have reported interest from Newcastle United and Leicester City as well in Eriksen.

The Denmark international is a free agent at the moment following his departure from Inter Milan.

Serie A rules would not allow Eriksen to play with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, so he had to leave.

Tottenham Hotspur fans on Christian Eriksen to Brentford rumour

As you can see from the tweets below from Tottenham fans, they would like Eriksen to be back at the club.

Well, some of them anyway.

Football.London and The Times have reported that Tottenham do not plan to bring back Eriksen.

It does not seem likely now that Spurs are going to make an approach.

In our view, it would be a mistake for Tottenham to not even try to bring Eriksen back.

The Dane is a very creative player who would make Antonio Conte’s Tottenham better.

Eriksen also played under Conte at Inter and won the Serie A title last season.

It would not hurt Tottenham to offer Eriksen a six-month contract.
