During the international break, a Tottenham Hotspur ace has been labelled as a ‘monster’ following his performances for his national team.
Tottenham Hotspur have started the season poorly with Ange Postecoglou’s side picking up four points from a possible nine with a tough-to-take defeat to Newcastle United and a draw to Leicester City.
The Lilywhites were dominant at St James’ Park against Newcastle but a late goal from Alexander Isak was enough to hand the Magpies a 2-1 victory.
Despite the manner of that defeat to Newcastle, things are seemingly remaining positive in North London for Spurs and one player has performed well on international duty.

Cristian Romero shines for Tottenham on international duty
During the defeat to Newcastle, fans were perhaps critical of Argentine defender Cristian Romero who seemed to be sluggish when defending large spaces and allowed the Magpies to create key chances on the break.
However, for his national team, it appears that Romero has performed admirably for Argentina during a 3-0 friendly victory over Chile.
Argentinian outlet TyC Sports have given their player ratings for the match against Chile and awarded Romero a 7/10 rating and were very complimentary of the defender.
“He’s a beast,” they wrote. “He doesn’t lose one duel. There is no better centre-back in the world than Cuti these days.”
This is quite high praise for the Argentine defender and he remains Tottenham’s best defender despite his poor performance for the Lilywhites at St James’ Park.
Cristian Romero the most important player for Tottenham
During the summer, Romero was linked with a move to Real Madrid and with Los Blancos missing out on Leny Yoro, who joined Manchester United, perhaps they will return for the Argentine.
Romero’s ability on the ball and his aggressiveness has made him a fan favourite in North London and he has been one of the best value-for-money signings that Spurs have made in recent seasons.
Spurs have to improve this season under Ange Postecoglou and finish in the Champions League places otherwise Romero may begin to question his long-term future in London.
