The arrival of Francisco Trincao at Wolves may have opened the door for Tottenham Hotspur to sign Goncalo Guedes instead, as reported by El Desmarque.
In May, when Everton looked set to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo as manager, reports emerged suggesting Guedes was on his way to Goodison Park.
And it’s surely no coincidence that, with Nuno making himself comfortable in the Tottenham hot seat instead, the £36 million Portugal international is now being linked not with Everton, but with Spurs.
As you may have guessed, Jorge Mendes is involved in negotiations.
Wherever Nuno goes, Mendes tends to follow.
The new Tottenham boss became Mendes’ first client in 1996 after all, when the 55-year-old was a budding nightclub owner looking to get involved in a new venture.
And, according to Deporte Valenciano, the Iberian super-agent is looking to further his relationship with Nuno and convince Tottenham to take a punt on a man who failed to play a single minute as Portugal crashed out of Euro 2020 in the round of 16.
Will Nuno Espirito Santo bring Goncalo Guedes to Tottenham?

Wolverhampton Wanderers, believe it or not, had also been linked with Guedes.
But with another Gestifute-owned Portuguese winger moving to the Black Country instead – Wolves signed the highly rated Trincao on a season-long loan deal at the weekend – it seems the door to Molineux has slammed in Guedes’ face.
The question, now, is whether Tottenham are interested?
Fast, direct and capable of playing anywhere across the front line, Guedes is certainly the sort of old-school, chalk-booted wideman who would thrive in Nuno Espirito Santo’s counter-attacking system – a player in the Pedro Neto mould.
And, according to Calciomercato, Valencia may be willing to accept just £13 million for Guedes as they look to ease a perilous financial situation.
