According to Calciomercato, Everton can now sign Gonçalo Guedes for just €15 million (£13 million) with Valencia desperate for cash.
The Italian news outlet’s revelation is something of a shock, as Guedes is one of Valencia’s most expensive players.
It was only as recently as 2018 that Valencia paid £36 million to sign the Everton target from Paris Saint-Germain.
Now, due to the financial impacts of COVID-19, they must sell their No.7 who was once compared to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
It’s worth noting that Wolves have been offered the forward.
Guedes – too cheap to turn down
If Calciomercato‘s news is true, then Carlo Ancelotti has to complete this signing.
The 22-cap Portugal international feels like he’s been around for ages, but he’s still just 24 years of age.
It was UEFA’s official website who mentioned the comparisons to Ronaldo.
They also described Guedes as a quick and incisive attacker, who possesses a powerful shot and a good eye for goal.
Admittedly, the Benavente-born forward has struggled since making his big-money move to La Liga.
In 136 games for Valencia, Guedes has scored just 23 goals.
However, as aforesaid, he still has plenty of time to improve.
Additionally, for just £13 million, Everton would be silly not to take a gamble on a player who was once tipped to achieve great things in football.
