Tottenham passed on Graham Potter last year – and he has now become a key rival to Spurs having become Chelsea manager.
Chelsea stunned many by confirming the sacking of Thomas Tuchel last week.
Tuchel had endured a tricky start to the season and his relationship with new owner Todd Boehly seemingly didn’t get off to a roaring start.
Last week’s 1-0 defeat at Dinamo Zagreb proved to be the end for Tuchel and Boehly wasted no time in finding a replacement.
Graham Potter is in having left Brighton for Stamford Bridge, landing a huge job having worked wonders with the Seagulls.

Tottenham passed on Graham Potter
Potter has landed his big move to London just over a year since Tottenham decided to look elsewhere.
Tottenham sack Jose Mourinho in 2021 and considered bringing in ‘genius‘ Potter as his replacement.
However, reports suggested that Daniel Levy wasn’t entirely sold on Potter and felt that appointing him would be a ‘gamble’.
Tottenham players allegedly wanted Potter to come in but Football London’s Alasdair Gold suggested that there were concerns about whether Potter could handle big egos.
Levy and Fabio Paratici instead went with Nuno Espirito Santo in a terrible move that just seemed like an awful fit from minute one.
Nuno was quickly replaced by Antonio Conte and Tottenham will be very happy with their current managerial situation.
Yet Potter now becomes a rival to Tottenham in more ways than one.
Firstly, Chelsea’s rivalry with Tottenham has really accelerated in recent years and last month’s tempestuous battle summed that up perfectly.
Conte clashed with Tuchel and he will now be going head-to-head with Potter on the touchline when the two teams meet again.
Then you have to consider the top four battle; both Chelsea and Tottenham have dreams of finishing in the Champions League places this season, just as they did last term.
Potter has gone from potential Tottenham manager to rivalling Spurs in the battle for London supremacy, marking a real turn of events after Levy chose Nuno.
