Tottenham Hotspur could make their first summer signing without even having a manager in place, with Takehiro Tomiyasu wanted.
Daniel Levy hasn’t been able to bring a replacement for Jose Mourinho just yet, but Fabio Paratici is in as director of football and needs to find signings.
Bringing in defenders has to be a priority, and one could be on the way with Tottenham making their move for Bologna star Tomiyasu.
Tottenham’s interest in Tomiyasu
The Sun were first to break Tottenham’s interest in Tomiyasu. They claimed over the weekend that Tottenham were going to offer £15million for the defender and were hopeful of striking a deal.
Sky Sports have since added to the reports, claiming that Tottenham have opened talks to thrash out a deal for the Japanese international.
Capable of playing across the back four, Tomiyasu has impressed in Italy and still has real potential at just 22.

Tottenham fans have their say
Some Spurs supporters are sceptical, feeling that this a cheap option and that Tomiyasu is only being signed for marketability, but let’s focus on the positives here.
Some think Tomiyasu would be a ‘good signing’ for just £15million, believing this is exactly the kind of signing Tottenham need.
Others think that Tomiyasu would be an ‘absolutely brilliant’ signing, and feel that Tottenham need this deal to happen.
