Tottenham have this week announced that their pre-season tour this summer will take place in South Korea for the first time since 2017.
Spurs confirmed on their official website that the north London club that both the men’s and women’s team will be travelling to the East Asian nation, with Tottenham having South Korea captains Heung-min Son and So-hyun Cho on their books.
It will be Tottenham’s third time visiting South Korea for a pre-season tour and the first since the Covid-19 pandemic, with other Premier League clubs set to spend the summer away from England.
As per the Athletic, Liverpool are set to head to Southeast Asia to play two pre-season friendlies against Manchester United and Crystal Palace, around the same time Tottenham are in South Korea.
With Son one of the most famous names and faces in South Korea, on par with the likes of pop group BTS and Squid Game actress HoYeon Jung, the pre-season trip will no doubt be a massive success for Tottenham.
And with Spurs taking both the men’s and women’s team with them to Asia, it marks a huge step in the right direction for the growth of women’s football, with Tottenham having a solid season in the WSL.
As you can expect, the decision to head to South Korea for pre-season was applauded by supporters on social media, with Tottenham one of the most-supported Premier League clubs in the country.
