Tottenham fans rage as club plot ‘pathetic’ move to please Antonio Conte

After a strong start under Antonio Conte, Tottenham’s form in the Premier League has nose-dived off a cliff, yet the club reportedly have a plan involving Sven Botman.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Spurs are eager to sign a new centre-back in the summer that will please the Italian manager, with Tottenham fans of LOSC Lille defender Botman, who is also wanted by Newcastle United.

As per the report, the Dutch youngster is likely to be on the move in the summer and numerous top clubs around Europe are chasing the 22-year-old, who has starred for Lille this season.

With Tottenham losing their last three Premier League matches, a new defender should be top of the club’s transfer list ahead of the summer, yet for fans on social media, they are not impressed by this latest report.

Indeed, supporters are eager for the club to undergo a full rebuild, with fans desperate to see a clear out the likes of which hasn’t been seen at Tottenham in some time.

Multiple players have been criticised over the past few months for their performances, and as well as a fire sale, Tottenham fans are not sold on the idea of signing Botman as the player to save the club’s defence.

Whilst the Dutchman is a quality player, fans are not convinced that Botman has the experience to fix Tottenham’s defence from the off, with Cristian Romero this season showing signs of struggle despite an incredible reputation in Italy beforehand with Atalanta.

It will take a lot of work to solve the mess Tottenham currently find themselves in, and for fans on social media, the club eyeing Botman as the saviour for their defensive problems is not a step in the right direction.
