Tottenham fans defend Harry Kane in row over Golden Boot as he chases down Liverpool forward.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur shows appreciation to the fans following the Premier League match between Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur at Bet365 Stadium on April 7, 2018 in Stoke on...

Harry Kane’s injury has left him playing catch up in the battle to win the Golden Boot.

He is behind Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who has scored an incredible 29 goals in 31 games.

At the weekend he thought he was getting closer, only to see the ‘goal’ against Stoke City he thought was his get awarded to teammate Christian Eriksen.

Kane maintained it was his goal and SkySports now report Spurs have lodged an appeal to get it officially awarded to him.

Kane’s attempts to get awarded the goal were derided by Liverpool supporters – who blasted Kane on social media as ‘desperate’.

Tottenham fans are fighting back, and believe Liverpool fans are being a bit over zealous with their criticism of England’s number one striker.

Kane has fought back before, overturning a deficit to Romelu Lukaku late last season,

He is really up against it with Salah so prolific and his desire to be credited an extra goal could be the difference maker.

Let’s hope for everybody’s sake that if Kane gets awarded the strike against Stoke, he doesn’t beat Salah by a solitary goal.
