Tottenham Hotspur fans should be excited about the new Premier League season.

The fixture list for the 2024/25 campaign has been released and Tottenham will begin life away at newly-promoted Leicester City.

But before club football can take centre stage again, Euro 2024 is on everyone’s mind, with the major tournament kicking off on Friday when Germany thrashed Scotland.

There aren’t many Tottenham players featuring this summer as their fans probably expected, with Pedro Porro snubbed by Spain and James Maddison also axe by England.

But one man who Spurs fans are excited to see in action is their January signing, Radu Dragusin.

Romania caused one of the shocks of the tournaments so far when they beat Ukraine 3-0 for their Euro 2024 opener on Monday.

Dragusin started the match and produced a ‘Man of the Match’ display, including impressing BBC commentator Guy Mowbray during the game, as he told Match of the Day on BBC One.

At one point during the game, Dragusin drove from his own half and into the opposition’s final third, before winning a foul.

Mowbray mentioned how ’Tottenham fans haven’t seen that’ from their centre-back following his arrival in the winter.

But the 22-year-old didn’t stop there because, even at 3-0, he was defending for his life and blocking crosses like it was still 1-0.

All in all, it’s an impressive start by Dragusin and his Romanian team, with Belgium and Slovakia up next and a great chance for the team to progress to the knockout stages.

Radu Dragusin impresses as Romania beat Ukraine

“Look at the enthusiasm of the yellow shirts charging forward, this is Dragusin,” said Mowbray. “Dragusin is still going, And he is fouled. It’s a free-kick to Romania. That’s a great run from Radu Dragusin. Tottenham fans haven’t seen that. They haven’t seen much of him, to be fair.

Dragusin’s blocking a cross later on in the game: “Put behind by Dragusin,” added Mowbray. “Well, Dragusin is having an outstanding game and will enjoy the rest of it.

“I don’t know if there is an equivalent award to the Sports Personality of the Year in Romania. But I would fancy that Dragusin would be on the list. They love him and he loves them. He is a player with a huge amount of personality.”

Radu Dragusin for Tottenham Hotspur next season

It’s going to be interesting to see how Ange Postecoglou uses Dragusin next season and the number of minutes he is handed.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are the starters, with Postecoglou playing a back four all throughout last season.

But could Dragusin change his mind with his performances? Whether it is a change of formation, or dare it be said, playing Dragusin or even van de Ven as fullbacks?

All in all, you feel with Spurs playing Europa League football next season, the squad is going to be as important as ever and it will still need to be added to with the summer transfer window officially open.
