Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are facing competition from Bayern Munich for Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer, according to SkySport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that defending Bundesliga champions Bayern are looking at Sommer due to the injury suffered by their number one goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Bayern want to bring back German goalkeeper Alexander Nubel from his loan spell at AS Monaco, but they will have to convince the Ligue 1 outfit to let him go.
In case, the Bavarian giants are unable to bring back Nubel, they will move for Sommer, who is out of contract at Monchengladbach at the end of the season and is “one of the most underrated goalkeepers in Europe”, according to former Manchester United star Peter Schmeichel in Bundesliga.com in August 2022.
Journalist Dean Jones reported in GiveMeSport last week that Sommer is on Tottenham’s radar.

Earlier this month, ESPN reported that Manchester United want to sign the Switzerland international goalkeeper on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
Bayern are the biggest club in Germany who regularly win the Bundesliga and compete in the UEFA Champions League.
The chance to move to Bayern could be too tempting for Sommer to resist.
