Tottenham are reportedly making moves for Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres in the summer and are keen on pairing him with manager Luis Enrique – with the Spaniard once saying in 2020 that Torres is the best at crossing in La Liga.
Torres, 23, is struggling for form at Barcelona this season. A £48m signing from Manchester City in January 2022, the versatile attacker has started just 14 of his 33 games this term – scoring just five goals. The competition at Barca is big.
Raphinha is first choice on the right, with the Brazil star’s form improving. Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati are other options. Robert Lewandowski is easily first choice up top. CMW say Tottenham have ‘come forward’ to sign Torres.
Indeed, Spurs are keen on combining Torres with his Spain manager. The duo know eachother well. Torres is said to be dating Enrique’s daughter. Torres started three of Spain’s four World Cup games under Spurs-linked Enrique in Qatar.

Speaking about Torres in 2020 after he has just left Valencia to join Manchester City, Enrique raved about Torres. After a game against Germany, Enrique said that Torres is a threat, and was one of the best crossers of the ball in La Liga.
“Ferran Torres has been at a very high level, on both wings,” Enrique said in 2020, as per The Mail. “A constant danger to the German defence. He is one of the players whose crosses are the best in LaLiga. I think he makes incisive passes.”
Tottenham make Torres move: Enrique said he is best at crossing in La Liga
Enrique would be a stunning appointment as Tottenham manager – and Torres would be a superb signing. Spurs are going to need to bolster their attacking ranks in the summer. Both Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma are likely to go.
Spurs will need to bring in another body – but this time, a player that can compete with Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Deki Kulusevski. Not one to simply provide cover, like Lucas and Danjuma. Torres is good enough to challenge.
