Wolves are prepared to pay the £10 million fee required to sign reported Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham target Bartlomiej Dragowski from Fiorentina this summer, as reported by La Nazione.
Now this is a transfer saga that could rumble on for the foreseeable future.
Wolverhampton Wanderers will only bring in a new goalkeeper once Rui Patricio is clearing out his locker and bidding “adeus” to life at Molineux.
And while the Portugal international has agreed a £40,000-a-week, three-year deal with Roma, everything’s up in the air right now and will remain so as long as the Italian giants are unwilling to meet Wolves’ asking price for the long-serving 33-year-old.
Put simply, Wolves won’t sign a replacement unless Patricio needs replacing.
Dragowski, then, had better get used to life in limbo.
Reports coming out of Florence claim Wolves would have no qualms about paying the £10 million required for the 23-year-old Poland international, who shot to fame when making a record-breaking 17 saves in a Serie A clash against Atalanta in 2019.
Don’t expect Wolves to firm up their interest, however, until there’s a breakthrough in the Patricio negotiations.

Could Dragowski join Tottenham or West Ham instead?
Could this open the door for Dragowski to join another Premier League club instead?
Viola News believes Tottenham and West Ham are also interested in Dragowski, with both clubs looking for someone capable of taking the place of 30-something veterans Hugo Lloris and Lukasz Fabianski respectively between the sticks.
Dragowski, whose agent recently confirmed an approach from Borussia Dortmund, isn’t the only goalkeeper on Wolves’ radar.
For now, however, Patricio remains Wolves’ number one. Well, to be pedantic, Wolves’ number 11.
