Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are confident of signing Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
The report has claimed that although Bastoni is hesitant about leaving Inter this summer, Tottenham are ‘confident’ that they can get a deal done following comments from his agent.
The Italy international central defender’s agent, Tullio Tinti, has said that although the 23-year-old is “certainly a big fan” of Inter and “will happily remain” at the former Italian champions, he “has to adjust”, as quoted in The Daily Mail.
Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte worked with the 23-year-old left-footed centre-back at Inter and knows his compatriot well.
Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan to Tottenham Hotspur could happen
In our view, Alessandro Bastoni could leave Inter Milan for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
We have covered reports from The Times and Corriere dello Sport claiming that Bastoni – who is “mean” and has “got personality and a great future”, according to comments from former Inter defender Marco Materazzi in FCInterNews in April 2020 – is unsure about moving to the Premier League.

However, Inter are willing to sell, and if Tottenham pay what the former Italian champions want, then they will be able to secure the services of the 23-year-old.
Conte knows Bastoni well, and he could be able to convince him to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Yes, Ben Davies has done well on the left of a back-three under Conte at Tottenham, but he is a left-back by trade, while Bastoni is a centre-back and he would be able to get ahead of the Wales international in the pecking order at Spurs.
