Tottenham Hotspur have been leading the race to sign Torino defender Bremer, but London rivals Chelsea could now make their move.

Tottenham want Bremer

Tottenham may have signed Cristian Romero last summer but still need defensive reinforcements.

Bremer has been regularly linked with Tottenham of late. Torino Granata reported last week that Tottenham are ‘above all’ in the race for the Brazilian.

It’s claimed that Tottenham are willing to pay around £17million for Bremer, which is what Torino want.

With Antonio Conte keen on Bremer, Tottenham are now thought to be ‘insistent’ on a deal.

Bremer, 24, has been branded ‘the best defender in Serie A’ thanks to his stunning statistics this season.

Liverpool have been though of as the main competition according to Radio Itatiaia in Brazil, but Chelsea are now lurking…

Chelsea chase Bremer move

The Sunday Mirror (12/12, p71) report that Chelsea are plotting a move to sign Bremer in January.

Chelsea have fears over Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Both linked with Tottenham, both out of contract at the end of the season; hardly ideal.

Add in that Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are also out of contract next summer and Chelsea face a defensive exodus.

Tottenham target Bremer is now wanted, with Chelsea eyeing a deal given that he has just 18 months left on his Torino deal.

Tottenham thought they were in the lead for Bremer, but bitter rivals Chelsea could have something to say about that – and possibly leave their former boss Conte gutted in the process.
