Liverpool have been linked with a move for Torino defender Bremer – and he is now being billed as the best defender in Serie A.
It’s a little strange that Liverpool are being linked with another centre back, isn’t it?
Virgil van Dijk is back fit and firing on all cylinders, whilst summer signing Ibrahima Konate is challenging Joel Matip.
Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips are also in the mix, so do Liverpool really need to sign another central defender?
If reports are to be believed, Liverpool think they do need another option.
Radio Itatiaia in Brazil reported in October that Liverpool have been in contact with the representatives of Torino defender Bremer.
Bremer, 24, joined Torino from Atletico Mineiro in 2018 and is also wanted by AC and Inter Milan.
Liverpool target Bremer hailed in Italy
If Liverpool fans don’t know all that much about Bremer, then this may help.
Bremer is being hailed in Italy, with Tuttosport calling him ‘the best defender in all of Serie A’.

The reason for that claim is that Bremer has recovered the most balls of any defender in Italy’s top flight.
Bremer recovered 122 balls in just 10 games, which the Italian press believe is enough to crown Bremer the best defender in the country.
Given that the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Milan Skriniar, Kalidou Koulibaly and Fikayo Tomori all star in Italy, that’s pretty bold.
Still, the stat shows that Bremer reads the game well, and that may well be part of why Liverpool like him so much.
