The Argentine is determined to add to his squad.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that his focus is on signing players as opposed to improving the deals of his current squad, in quotes published by the London Evening Standard.
The likes of Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela have all been linked with new contracts over the summer but Pochettino is concentrating on welcoming new arrivals.

“We are more focused on adding players,” said the Spurs boss. “We are focused on trying to improve our squad rather than improve the contracts of our players.”
Spurs have been linked with a host of players during the transfer window, with Pau Lopez and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou being the two most commonly touted and both expected to join imminently.

Both deals have dragged on and meant that neither player will feature in the first three Premier League fixtures, a stark contrast to the speedy captures of Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen.
The club’s inability to get deals over the line promptly has frustrated some supporters, especially given Pochettino’s recent admission that he wants up to three more added to the squad beyond the two signings so far.
Further links to the likes of Wilfried Zaha (Daily Mail) and Ivan Perisic (Sky Italia) have emerged today and with under a week remaining before the close of the window, Spurs will need to act fast if they are to grant Pochettino his wishes.
