Spurs have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Pau Lopez, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Tottenham have had several offers rejected in recent weeks, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports, but have increased their proposal and now appear set to land their man.
The AS report claims Spurs will pay a 600,000 (£515,000) euro loan fee up front, with a 7 million euro purchase option available next summer.

It also claims that Espanyol have included a penalty fee if the Lilywhites choose not to make the goalkeepers’ switch permanent in a year’s time.
Spurs are thought to have been on the look for long-term back up and cover for Hugo Lloris for quite some time after several unconvincing showings from Michel Vorm.

Despite being just 21-years old, Lopez has his fair share of first-team experience and established himself as Espanyol’s first-choice stopper last season.
Lopez should be joined at White Hart Lane by Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, with the latest reports suggesting the drawn out saga has finally come to an end.

Summer signings Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama already look like shrewd additions and if Mauricio Pochettino adds a solid alternative goalkeeping option and an exciting, pacey forward to the mix, Spurs will be in good shape for the season ahead.
