Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly in the race to re-sign Brentford’s Christian Eriksen – but Martin Keown has talked up a move to Arsenal.
Eriksen’s return to action at the top level has touched everybody in football.
The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest against Iceland at Euro 2020. Never mind playing again, the initial fear surrounded Eriksen’s life.
Eriksen not only made a full recovery but then made it clear that he wanted to return to football. Yet having been fitted with an ICD, Eriksen was no longer allowed to play in Italy.
Inter Milan released him from his contract and Eriksen decided to join Brentford in January.
Heavily influenced by Danes on and off the pitch, this seems like a perfect move for Eriksen.
Eriksen has been outstanding for Brentford ever since signing. Two goals and one assist in seven outings doesn’t sound incredible, but Eriksen’s influence and creativity has been exceptional.
Exceptional is the word Jamie Redknapp used to describe Eriksen last week whilst also calling him a ‘magician’.
Eriksen did only sign a contract until the end of the season though and clubs will understandably want to sign him.
90Min claim that Tottenham Hotspur are confident of signing Eriksen this summer despite interest from Newcastle United.

An emotional return to Tottenham will surely appeal to Eriksen. As things stand, Eriksen would also be reuniting with his former Inter boss Antonio Conte.
Other Premier League clubs are bound to be interested too – and Martin Keown has talked up a potential move to Arsenal.
There has been no indication that Arsenal are actually keen on Eriksen but Keown still thinks a move would make sense.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Keown suggested that he thinks Eriksen would leave Brentford if Tottenham or even Arsenal offered him a deal.
It would be bold for Eriksen to join Tottenham’s biggest rivals given his love for the club, but Keown thinks it would appeal to the Dane.
“I think he [Eriksen] would step aside [at Brentford] if he could return back to a Spurs, or an Arsenal, somebody of that ilk,” said Keown. “Maybe he deserves that opportunity… Maybe the player might decide with all that love and support I’ve got here [at Brentford] I’m going to stay at Brentford,” he added.
