Antonio Conte wants three January signings as Tottenham Hotspur look to back their boss in the hunt for Champions League football.
Tottenham finished in the top four last season and many were backing them to do it again this term.
Yet with Arsenal thriving, Manchester United looking a threat and Newcastle United looking to gatecrash the party, Tottenham aren’t a sure thing for the top four – even with Liverpool faltering.
Recent results and performances have been frustrating and Conte may now need some January additions to really move forward.

Antonio Conte wants three January signings
Fabio Paratici appeared to have a strong summer window, but that feeling has fallen apart a little.
Djed Spence has barely been seen, Ivan Perisic has been in and out, so has Yves Bissouma and Clement Lenglet hasn’t proven to be a huge improvement on Ben Davies.
That means January signings may well be needed and Conte appears to be eyeing up three new faces.
The Times suggest that Conte wants an attacking player, a midfielder and even a defender – but Tottenham may need to let some players go to make that happen.
So who could Conte look to sign?
One interesting shout for the attacking player would be Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.
Ghana Soccernet reported in August that Tottenham really liked Kudus and were eyeing a late bid before the transfer deadline.
Ajax managed to keep Kudus and that decision has paid off massively.
Kudus has has hit nine goals in 16 games this season, showing off his versatility by playing as a number 10 and as a striker, offering some versatility in the final third.
At just 22, Kudus is the kind of talent Tottenham should be looking at and with Conte needing more attacking quality, he should still be on the radar.

Tottenham’s midfield options are workmanlike and adding Juventus ace Weston McKennie would feel like more of the same.
More forward-thinking creativity is needed and Rennes star Lovro Majer could fit the bill.
Reports from Homme du Match last year suggested that Majer was on Tottenham’s radar amid comparisons to Luka Modric.
That should excite Spurs fans and Majer, 24, is expected to feature heavily for Croatia at the World Cup next month.
In defence, Davinson Sanchez looks terribly unsuited to playing as a right-sided defender in a three; he just can’t play out from the back like Cristian Romero.
One name mentioned by Football London’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold over the summer was Dynamo Kiev star Ilya Zabarnyi.

Zabarnyi is only 20 but he has already shown his ability as a 1v1 defender and is more than confident carrying and passing the ball out from the back.
That would suit being cover for Romero much better than Sanchez, whilst even opening up the possibility to play Zabarnyi on the right and Romero in the middle.
Tottenham are understood to have offered £25million for Zabarnyi, according to Football24 in Ukraine, over the summer but couldn’t get him signed.
All three players there are talents for the future but with quality right now too, which is what Tottenham should be going for rather than the likes of Leonardo Bonucci.
