Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham and their potential next signing this summer.
Spurs have been very busy already in this window, signing no fewer than three players so far, and with more transfers in the pipeline, many are wondering who the fourth arrival will be in north London.
Tottenham moved very quickly to sign Yves Bissouma last week, with the move for the Malian seemingly coming from out of the blue, and that’s led to speculation about another surprise signing being on its way for Tottenham.
Gold was asked who the next surprise signing could be, and the journalist named 19-year-old Ilya Zabarnyi as a potential candidate.
What’s been said?
Gold was asked about Spurs’ next surprise signing.
“Do you have any inkling of the next possible signing that Paratici is striving for, a surprise name other than the usual suspects?” Gold was asked.
The journalist named Zabarnyi in his response.
“Like I say, the young Ukrainian lad, Zabarnyi, I would keep a little eye on him, because I do wonder, even if it’s not Spurs if someone comes in for him and I do know that Spurs are having a really good look at him as a potential signing, so maybe he’s the one,” Gold said.
“I guess that if there was to be a surprise one, that would be the one, but it’s difficult to say a surprise signing because that’s what the surprise element is.”

Be excited
If Zabarnyi is to be Spurs’ next signing, fans should be very excited.
The 19-year-old already has 22 international caps to his name at this age, and according to Gold, scouts within the game think he could become a superstar.
Of course, Tottenham may be wanting a more experienced option, but as Antonio Conte showed with Alessandro Bastoni at Inter, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
Zabarnyi could be a real asset for Spurs in the coming years.
