The Portuguese defender, who was brought in by Edu Gaspar this summer from Benfica, retained his spot in the XI with Kieran Tierney only just returning from injury.
Yet despite the Scotsman’s huge influence on the Arsenal team, Mikel Arteta’s side have not missed a beat with Tavares filling in for Tierney in recent weeks.
